The #2-ranked college football team in the country will be in Pittsburgh today, as the Pitt Panthers host the Miami Hurricanes for a noon kickoff at Heinz Field. Pitt enters their final game of the season 4-7 overall. Miami is 10-0.Penn State will visit Maryland for a 3:30pm kickoff Saturday. Pre-game on WBUT 1050am (and at wbut.com) will be 2pm.
IUP will host West Chester Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Division II football playoffs. Kick-off is noon. The two teams met three weeks ago in the PSAC championship game. IUP won that game 24-7.
The Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team will host Walsh Saturday afternoon at Morrow Field House seeking their fourth consecutive victory. The Rock defeated West Liberty 89-74 on the road Thanksgiving Eve. Brooke Hinderliter had a career-high 29 points to lead The Rock. Karns City grad Leeann Gibson had six points and six rebounds.
A win would match their longest winning streak in 16 years.
