A Pittsburgh man is facing charges for allegedly leading police on a chase through southern Butler County on New Year’s Eve.
The pursuit began Sunday evening when Adams Township Police tried to pull over Daniel Fountain Jr. for running a stop sign on Myoma Road in Adams Township.
Police say the chase then went on Crider Road to Route 228 and then Three Degree Road.
Fountain then drove into a St. Barnabas retirement community where he eventually crashed into a retention pond.
Police say Fountain then got out of his car and tried to steal another vehicle from a woman that just arrived at her home.
Police were able to catch Fountain soon after. He was taken to the Butler County Prison and is on $50,000 bond.
