Some residents in a portion of southern Butler County will be affected by a planned West Penn Power outage this weekend.
The outage along a circuit that runs through Saxonburg will take place Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Customers should not miss the 8:20 p.m. kickoff of the Sunday night Steelers game against the Cowboys.
Customers in areas of Main Street, Rebecca Street, Carol Street, Butler Road, Evergreen Court, Holly Court, Magnolia Court, Driftwood Drive and Oakleaf Drive will be impacted.
A dozen West Penn Power line workers with six bucket trucks will work to improve the reliability of electric service and accommodate future load growth anticipated for the community. Flaggers will direct traffic.
West Penn will make an effort to notify those affected with a recorded message or text as long as a number is on file with the company. Several more planned outages will be necessary this fall to complete this project but fewer customers will be impacted.
