State police in Butler will be conducting various DUI checkpoints this holiday weekend.
The roving enforcement areas will be conducted on roads that police say are problematic with DUI offenses.
State police spokesman Brent Miller says penalties for DUI’s can be severe.
“Penalties for DUIs in Pennsylvania are dependent on several factors, but can include thousands of dollars in fines and court costs, increased insurance premiums, license suspension, and potential prison time,” Miller said.
Police say the DUI checkpoints will be held today through Monday.
