Police have identified the victim of a shooting that happened earlier this week in Muddy Creek Township.
State police found 38-year-old David Hines of New Castle was shot and killed inside a vehicle Monday night around 8 p.m. on East Portersville Road.
Police say they arrived on the scene to find an SUV just off the side of the road in an embankment near a mining facility. No details about a suspect have been released, but police also believe this to be an isolated event and there is no public safety concern at the moment.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call state police in Butler.
