We have more information about the vehicle accident last week that sent a Slippery Rock girl to a Pittsburgh hospital.
The incident occurred just after 7 a.m. last Tuesday (10/17) near the intersection of Franklin Road and Vincent Street.
According to the Slippery Rock Borough Police Department, 20-year-old SRU student Gavin Watson of Munhall hit an 11-year-old Slippery Rock Middle School student who was crossing the street from her bus stop. The bus she was boarding had stopped and had activated the red lights and stop sign.
The girl was then taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital but has since been released to recover from minor injuries at home.
Watson will be charged with Meeting or Overtaking a School Bus, Driving at a Safe Speed, and Careless Driving.
