State police say one man is dead after a shooting in Eau Claire Thursday night.
According to a press release the incident happened in the 100 block of East Main Street in the Eau Claire Borough around 7:40 p.m.
State police say troopers arrived at the house after receiving a call about a possible shooting. When they got on scene they found 28-year-old Seth Thomas Gooden Smith of Polk had been shot multiple times.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Dakota Hughes of Eau Claire. Police arrested Hughes and he’s currently in the Butler County Prison.
Police did not provide any other details surrounding a motivation behind the shooting.
