Our local Troop D of the Pennsylvania State Police is reminding the public to drive safely during the upcoming long holiday weekend.
Over the next several days, police will place an even greater emphasis on detecting impaired driving, as well as speeding and safety equipment violations. Troopers also ask that motorists drive sober, use a seatbelt, and be alert while obeying all traffic laws. This includes distracted driving- such as driving while texting- which is a finable offense.
The extended Independence Day weekend begins Wednesday and will continue through Sunday.
