Those driving to and from holiday activities should be aware of increased police monitoring.
The Butler Barracks of the State Police will be conducting Sobriety Checkpoints around the Butler County area beginning today and continuing through this weekend.
Troopers have planned stationary checkpoints as well as roving patrols on roadways determined to be problematic with DUI offenses. Drivers should always have license, registration, and insurance available.
Authorities remind drivers there is no trick to decrease blood alcohol content; it will only decrease as the body metabolizes the alcohol over time. Motorists should drive sober or arrange for a designated driver.
