Pennsylvania State Police are reminding drivers that it’s illegal to drive with an illegible license plate.
Police say if your plate can’t be seen from over 50 feet, or if it’s blistering, peeling, or there’s any discoloration you’re subject to a citation.
If you’re plate is illegible, you can take it to any official state inspection station for verification of your plate and you would receive a form to authorize the replacement.
The form is also available on PennDOT’s website.
