Butler Township Commissioners have given their formal approval for a new chicken sandwich restaurant in the area.
At their Monday night meeting, Butler Township Commissioners unanimously approved of plans for a Popeye’s Chicken restaurant at the intersection of New Castle Road and Alameda Park Road. It initially was approved by the Butler Township Planning Commission earlier this month.
A lease of Alameda Plaza property will allow for construction of a nearly 2,400-square foot Popeye’s Chicken near the current structure that formerly housed a couple of restaurants and a realtor.
The restaurant will have a drive-thru with two windows able to accommodate multiple vehicles. The Popeye’s will also have about 24 seats for eat-in customers.
Construction of the site is expected to begin sometime mid-spring with likely completion sometime in the fall.
