A local event with something for the whole family kicks off Thursday.
The Portersville Steam Show begins at 8 a.m. and continues through 8 p.m. Sunday at the Steam Show Grounds off Perry Highway.
The weekend will include live music, square dancing, a Civil War encampment, flea market, crafts, tractor pulls and demonstrations of gas and steam engines, as well as a tractor and equipment parade.
Admission is $5 per person with kids 11 and younger admitted for free. No alcoholic beverages or pets are allowed on the show grounds.
