The United States Postal Inspection Service is investigating a string of break-ins around the Pittsburgh area including one in Butler.
A spokesperson for the USPI says that multiple collection boxes have been broken into around the region. Locally, the Lyndora Post Office on Whitestown Road was a collection box that was impacted.
Officials say they are not able to provide any specific details about the crimes, citing an ongoing investigation.
However, they do urge anyone with information to contact the Inspection Service directly on their hotline at 877-876-2455.
Also, customers are encouraged to report stolen mail as soon as possible by filing an online complaint on the USPI’s website.
