Cranberry Township has announced members of a new committee to help oversee the preservation of the Powell Farm.
The land was donated to the township in an effort to preserve it as farmland and offer educational opportunities to residents.
At a meeting earlier this month, the township supervisors named 10 members to the committee. They range from local residents, to farmers and educators.
The committee will be responsible for advancing a plan and recommendations for how to use the farm property.
Per the acquisition of the property, it must remain a working agricultural space in perpetuity.
