Power to traffic lights and some Butler County residents was knocked out briefly Monday afternoon.
Around 1:30 p.m. power was lost at multiple traffic lights along New Castle and Evans City Roads as well as for as many as 8,000 residents.
According to a West Penn Power spokesman, the cause of the outage was the unforeseen result of testing equipment at a substation.
Service was restored to all lights and customers by 2 p.m.
