The Butler County Genealogical Society will present a program this week on DNA and how you can use it to solve your own genealogical questions.
Debbie Billeter will be the presenter in Tuesday’s meeting at the Butler Public Library beginning at 6:15 p.m.
She will describe her DNA case study as she finds appropriate candidates for the biological father of her maternal grandfather.
If you have an adoption or a mis-attributed parentage in your family tree, officials say DNA matches can be used to determine the real surname and narrow down the generation in which the break in the family tree may have occurred.
You don’t have to be a member of the genealogical society to attend.
