The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced Wednesday that its board of governors has voted to cancel mandated regular season and postseason competition for fall sports in 2020-2021.
The decision will impact sports at Slippery Rock University such as football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey and volleyball. The NCAA has already announced that eligibility for all student-athletes will not be impacted this year, meaning that no fall sports student-athletes will lose a season of eligibility – moving into next fall.
The league’s 18 presidents are expected to meet again next week to discuss winter sports.
