The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced Wednesday the decision to cancel the regular season and postseason competition for winter sports in 2020-2021. The board of directors voted on a similar decision for fall sports last week. This decision now impacts men’s and women’s basketball along with men’s and women’s indoor track and field. The PSAC does have plans to move forward with spring sports in 2021 at this time.
Schools losing sports play includes Slippery Rock, IUP, Clarion, Edinboro and California.
The NCAA has already announced that eligibility for all student-athletes will not be impacted this year.
Six more of this week’s college football games were postponed Wednesday due to coronavirus cases on teams, including #22-Texas at Kansas. Overall, 14 out of 62 games involving Bowl Subdivision teams that were scheduled for this week have been postponed due to the virus, after 15 of 59 scheduled games weren’t played last week.
