The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission will hold two public hearings later this month on a proposed rate increase requested by Peoples Natural Gas.
The hearings will take place on Tuesday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 24 in Johnstown and Monroeville.
The Johnstown hearing will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at the Richmond Township Fireman’s Banquet Hall. The second hearing will be held the next day, Wednesday, April 24, also at 6 p.m. in Monroeville at the Boyce Campus Performance Hall on the campus of the Community College of Allegheny County.
Earlier this year, Peoples requested the rate hike- which would increase the average monthly bill for a residential customer by about $10. The average monthly bill for a residential customers in the Equitable Division would increase about $14.
Peoples Gas provides service to roughly 600,000 residents in business in the Pittsburgh region, including Butler County.
