The Public Utility Commission is calling on Pennsylvania’s legislative body to act and restore funding to the organization.
The PUC has called for the highest funding possible for LIHEAP in 2026 to help low income families keep their power on during the winter.
The letter claims that LIHEAP keeps power on for over 230,000 Pennsylvania customers with over $152 million in aid.
Officials also say that LIHEAP can be the only source of funding available to senior citizens, children, and individuals with disabilities and sever illnesses.
