For National Radon Action Month, the American Lung Association is urging people to get tests in their home.
The state of “State of Lung Cancer” report from the American Lung Association revels that high levels of radon are detected at in about 40% of homes. Radon is also the second leading cause of lung cancer according to the same report.
Radon is odorless, tasteless, colorless, and can enter a home through cracks in floors, walls, foundations and other openings in your home. Governor Josh Shapiro and the state have paired up to provide test kits at no charge while supplies last.
The tests and program are supported by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental protection.
