The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the New York Rangers 4-3 last night at PPG Paints Arena. Conor Sheary, Phil Kessel and Patric Hornqvist scored the Penguins goals. Sidney Crosby did not have a point, ending a six-game scoring streak. The Pens had 45 shots on goal in the game. Goaltender Tristan Jarry stopped 25 of 29 shots on goal. The Pens played most of the game with five defenseman Justin Schultz left with a lower body injury in the first period. The Pens host the New York Islanders Thursday.
A Forbes magazine report on the NHL’s most-valuable teams lists the Rangers at an NHL-high $1.5 billion in worth. It is the third consecutive year the Rangers are the league’s most valuable team. The Penguins are worth an estimated $650 million, good for 10th in the league. The average NHL franchise is worth just under $600 million. Toronto, Montreal and the Chicago Blackhawks are teams listed as worth at least a billion dollars
