The New York Rangers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 last night at Madison Square Garden, and have evened their First Round Stanley Cup Series at 1-1. The Rangers scored twice in the third period to break open a 3-2 game. Jake Guentzel and Sidney Crosby scored for the Pens. Third-string goaltender Louis Domingue stopped 35 of 40 shots from New York.
The series moves to Pittsburgh for Game 3 Saturday. Face-off is 7pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:30pm.
Game 4 is also at PPG Paints Arena Monday night. The big-screen will be set up outside of the arena for both games.
The Pens inserted defenseman Mark Friedman into their lineup last night, and scratched veteran defenseman Brian Dumoulin. The Pens were also without goaltender Casey DeSmith and wingers Rickard Rickell and Jason Zucker due to injury. Goaltender Tristan Jarry remains idle with a broken foot.
