Raymond “Ray” Ellenberger, 83, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 3, 2017 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born August 18, 1934 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Camden Ellenberger and the late Dorothy Kildoo Ellenberger.
Ray was the owner and operator of Ellenberger’s Farm Market and Greenhouse and also worked Maintenance for the Butler School District at the Oakland Elementary School. He was Protestant by faith. Ray enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his grandsons and grand-dog Isabelle.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Dr. Karyn Ellenberger Koch and her husband Stephen of Imperial, PA; two grandsons, Carson Koch, and Connor Koch; two brothers, Robert Ellenberger, and Charles Ellenberger both of Butler, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews .
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ellenberger, whom he married on June 11, 1966 and who passed away on July 9, 1993; and one brother, George Ellenberger.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Reverend Richard Jenks of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, officiating.
Private Burial will take place in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
