One of Butler’s craft breweries is moving forward with plans to open a second location.
Recon Brewing is opening a new brewery in Cranberry Township. It will be off of Rochester Road, a part of the new “Great American Neighborhood” that is currently being developed by Charter Homes.
“It’s just a great location for us to expand our brand and bring a little of Butler’s history to the Cranberry area,” Recon co-owner Dave Bestwick said.
Bestwick said construction on the new, 3,000 square foot facility should begin relatively soon. He hopes to be open by the end of spring next year, or early summer.
“It’s definitely very exciting for us,” Recon co-owner Dave Bestwick said. “I think it’s amazing the support we have received so far in Center Township and I think it’s going to be a great step for us to move south and open another location.”
Bestwick said this will be the first micro-brewery in Cranberry Township and that there’s still plenty of room for the craft beer industry to grow.
“The reality is the craft beer market is still a small segment of beer drinkers,” Bestwick said. so when we all work together to grow knowledge and expand people’s tastebuds as to what good beer should be, there’s still a lot of market left to capture.”
Once the new Recon Brewing location opens, Butler County will have 11 breweries.
