The American Red Cross is offering tips to remind people to stay safe this spring and summer when hitting the water.
They encourage people to always swim with a buddy in designated areas under lifeguard supervision, and to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water while avoiding drinks with alcohol or caffeine.
The Red Cross offers water safety and age-appropriate swimming courses, as well as first aid and CPR classes.
