The American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to help with disaster relief efforts across the country.
The Greater Pennsylvania Region has deployed more than 50 volunteers so far to help with recovery efforts for those affected by wildfires in Oregon and California as well as hurricanes along the Gulf Coast.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, moving people from one part of the country to another is dangerous so volunteers are needed to train now in case of local emergency. Shelter help and health services support workers are needed.
The Red Cross is also looking for established partner organizations to support pet sheltering efforts. Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit the website of the Red Cross.
