The commission responsible for the redistricting process in Pennsylvania will be changing they count inmates at state prisons.
The commission will now count prisoners at their home address instead of where they are currently incarcerated. This is only for the 23 state prisons that are largely in rural counties.
According to the PA Department of Corrections, there are around 37,000 inmates in these jails.
However, if a prisoner is serving a life sentence, they will be counted as living in that location instead of a home address.
