With the latest Census data released late last week, the process of redrawing the Congressional map for Pennsylvania begins.
The state’s population surpassed 13 million, but lagged behind other states meaning that the state loses a Congressional seat.
Experts believe that impact could be felt on the Western side of the state, as population growth lagged here compared to east.
The redistricting process will be under a tighter timeline since the Census data was released late due to the pandemic.
Those interested in learning more about redistricting can visit Grove City College next Tuesday for a public hearing. It’s being hosted by Respresentative Tim Bonner of the 8th Legislative District. The event begins at 9 a.m. in the Ketler Auditorium.
Election officials hope to have a map in place by January.
