Renee Denise Rottman, 48, of Petrolia, passed away Monday evening, June 24, 2019 at UPMC Shadyside following a brief illness of plasma cell leukemia
Renee was born in Butler on December 5, 1970. She was the daughter of Karl J. and Carolyn DeWoody Rottman.
She was a 1989 graduate of Karns City High School, Butler County Community College (Magna Cum Laude), Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Science Degree (Cum Laude), and obtained an Associate Degree in graphic design from BC3 Cranberry. Renee also attended Longwood College in Virginia.
Renee had been employed at ATS, The Progress News, Sears, and Butler County Community College in Cranberry Twp.
She loved her cats and took good care of PoPo, Squik, and Scruffy. She was quite talented as a writer and artist.
Renee is survived by her parents, Karl J. and Carolyn Rottman of Petrolia; a brother, Brian Rottman; her boyfriend, Matthew Boswak, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Renee loved the Lord and attended the Memorial Church of Our Father in Foxburg.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Claire DeWoody and her paternal grandparents, Karl and Dorothy Rottman.
She will be missed by family and friends.
A private family graveside interment service will be held Saturday at Bear Creek Cemetery in Petrolia. A memorial service at Martinsburg Church of Bruin will be announced at a later date.
