Congressman Mike Kelly of Butler is recognizing students in the 16th District for their artwork.
Kelly announced the top three winners of the annual Congressional art competition. Braiden Douds of Mercer won while Seneca Valley Senior High School student Jo Fernandez-Jenkins was awarded second place.
A total of 73 entries were received this year from 13 different schools across Kelly’s district. Some winners will have their artwork displayed at the Cannon House Office Building Tunnel in Washington D.C.
The Congressional art competition was started in order to foster and encourage art and culture in high school students.
