A local lawmaker is joining with colleagues to make a push for more affordable prescription drug prices.
Republican Congressman Mike Kelly is an original co-sponsor of the Lower Costs More Cures Act which was introduced by House Republicans earlier this week.
This bill would limit annual out of pocket costs for Medicare beneficiaries, require insurance companies to make drug price information available at doctors’ offices, and encourage competition by preventing abuses of the patent system.
Kelly claims that every provision in the bill is bipartisan but the majority Democrats are instead expected to vote on an alternative plan.
