Congressman Mike Kelly is calling on the EPA to expand the response radius in the aftermath of the train derailment in East Palestine.
Kelly sent a letter to the EPA administrator demanding that the Pennsylvanians receive federal air, water, and soil testing.
He says just 22 homes in Beaver County have access to the federal assistance, but adds that Lawrence County leaders have expressed serious concerns over their lack of testing.
Kelly’s 16th District covers Lawrence County, which was just miles from the site of the accident.
“The people of Lawrence County deserve answers now. They deserve to know if their well water is safe to drink and if their soil is safe to plant ahead of the upcoming farming season,” Rep. Kelly said in a statement.
