Congressman Mike Kelly is one of 68 federal lawmakers to back a judge’s ruling that would limit access to an abortion pill.
Kelly was the only Pennsylvania lawmaker that signed onto the amicus brief. The Republicans who filed the brief argue that the Texas judge made the correct ruling that the FDA violated safeguards placed on the drug approval process with mifepristone.
Those against the decision by the Texas judge say that ruling threatened access to abortion care.
An appeals court ruled earlier this week that the mifepristone drug could still be accessed, but placed limitations on how that pill can be bought.
