A local lawmaker is looking to bring new Artificial Intelligence investment and business development.
In her role as chair of Pennsylvania’s Artificial Intelligence Opportunity Taskforce, Republican Representative Stephenie Scialabba has joined with colleagues to introduce two bills.
One would expand the existing Semiconductor Manufacturing Tax Credit to include a new AI Development Tax Credit to encourage AI companies to stay in Pennsylvania and allow new companies to establish operations in the Commonwealth.
The second would create an Artificial Intelligence Consortium to vet potential regulatory barriers, convene important AI stakeholders, and recommend legislation that both provides guardrails and encourages innovation in the AI field.
The group is still seeking co-sponsors for these bills.
