A notable television host is reportedly looking to join the growing field of Republican candidates in next year’s Senate race.
Dr. Mehmet Oz is hiring staff and reaching out to donors as he apparently prepares to make a run for Senate.
Dr. Oz has never held political office, and also doesn’t own property in Pennsylvania according to the Washington Free Beacon, who published the report. However, Oz said in a statement that he has lived and voted in Pennsylvania since last year.
He also added that he is currently focused on his show at the moment.
This is the latest development into a race for the Republican nomination that has been busy, although we still remain months away from the primary.
There are already eight declared candidates in the race to succeed Pat Toomey.
