A restaurant in Cranberry Township is recovering from a weekend fire. Luckily the company knew to use their wet chemical fire extinguishers to try and keep the damage to a minimum and everyone safe. These extinguishers are kept within the kitchen to make sure they’re in close reach in case disaster strikes and able to use on the fire. These extinguishers are kept in place for these events, whereas Class A fires need more efficient equipment.
The House of Chen restaurant on Brandt Drive caught fire Saturday night about 9 p.m.
Flames and smoke could reportedly be seen from the outside of the building. The restaurant was evacuated and no one was hurt, according to the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company.
The cause is under investigation but thought to be electrical.
The restaurant was closed Sunday and it’s unclear when it will reopen.
