Richard “Dick” Green

Richard “Dick” Green, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 16th, 2023. He was born at home in Carbon Center on March 20th, 1940 to the late Clarence and Sara (Smith) Green. Richard attended Keck School and Butler High School, he then went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked for United Telephone for 45 years until his retirement. He was known for being an extremely hard worker, selfless, great husband, father, granddad, and an excellent friend. Richard was a founding member of the Happy Hunters Club. He was also active in the American Legion Post 117 and East Butler Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, farming, and stock cars. Richard was the father of Curtis (Lauren) Green and Jennifer (David) Dressing; brother of Patricia Fair, Lenny (Julie) Green, and Larry Green; grandfather of Kensington, August, London, Cade, and Creed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Eleanor (Motko) Green in 2000. Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 20th, 2023 from 5-7 PM at the SPENCER D.
