Richard P. Bauer, 63, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday February 13, 2025.
He was born April 2, 1961 in Queens, NY, a son of the late Richard B. Bauer and Lois A. (Gallagher) Bauer.
Richard was a retired truck driver, lastly working for McClymonds Transport for more than 10 years. He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church.
He enjoyed music, cooking, walking, was an avid sports fan (especially watching the Pittsburgh Steelers), loved fireworks on the 4th of July and, most of all, caring for his cat Chief. He had a true heart of gold and was known for his infectious laugh.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk.
Surviving him are his siblings John (Judith) Bauer, Veronica Andrews, Eric (Brigette) Bauer and Erika Blystone and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday February 19, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 20, 2025, at 10:00 am, at St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. Military Honors to follow Mass at the Church. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of Alleghenies, Washington County.
