Richard (Rocky) Fleeger, 86, passed away Wednesday June 14, 2023 at his home in Butler.
Rocky was the son of the late Edward Lynn and Thelma (Wise) Fleeger. He lived with the love of his life of 60 years Janet (Link) Fleeger in Butler. They built a beautiful life together, raising two children and attending Unionville United Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and Trustee. Richard was involved in many church functions in serving, cooking, and his specialty making homemade apple butter. He was an Army Veteran, worked on the Fleeger Farm and served 37 years at Armco Steel Plant, where he would tell everyone he worked at Armco when it was truly Armco, until his retirement in March 1993.
Survived by his son, Robert Fleeger and Joyce of New Castle; one daughter, Tammy (Fleeger) Steinmiller and her husband, Daniel Steinmiller of Petrolia; three Grand Daughters, Autumn Butlin and husband Josh, Amber Kriess and Cody Stroup and Ashlyn Kriess.
Also survived by three sisters Judy Sutton of Butler, Karen (Donald) McAfee of Butler and Joan Fleeger of Butler; four brothers Rodney (Helen) Fleeger of West Sunbury, Eugene Fleeger of Butler, Larry (Penny) Fleeger of Butler and James Fleeger of Butler and numerous nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by his father, Edward Lynn Fleeger and mother,Thelma (Wise) Fleeger and one brother, Jack Fleeger.
Richard was a ROCK to his family. He has left an imprint on so many hearts and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Friends will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler on Sunday, June 18th from 2 PM to 6 PM. His funeral service will be at the Unionville United Presbyterian Church, 1114 Sunset Drive, Butler on Monday, June 19th at 11 AM with his pastor, Matt Kail officiating. Military Honors immediately after the service at the church.
