Richard Simeon Nixon, age 69, of Butler, passed away Fri., March 4, at his residence.
Born in Pittsburgh on July 18, 1952, he was a son of the late Simeon and Dorothy Grimes Nixon.
Rich was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he was a hospital corpsman stationed at Patuxent River, Md.
He was a former licensed practical nurse. His greatest reward was working as a hospice nurse.
Rich was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. An animal lover, he especially loved spoiling his dogs, Steeler and Chloe.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Pappalard Nixon, whom he married Feb. 12, 1993; three sisters, Dorothy “Bo” Woodrow and her husband, Jim, Patricia Williams, and Pam Neely and her husband, Dave; two brothers, William Nixon and his wife, Danell, and Charles Nixon; one brother-in-law, William Spohn; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Pappalard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy E. Spohn.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Blessing Service will immediately follow, with the Reverend Dan Waruszewski officiating.
