A longtime law enforcement member is running to become a district magistrate judge.
Jack D. Ripper announced his candidacy to replace longtime Judge Sue Haggerty as a district magistrate in southeastern Butler County.
Ripper has been in law enforcement for nearly 30 years, including the last 21 with the Penn Township Police Department.
Ripper says he has knowledge of the court system and laws of the Commonwealth. He also adds that he’s an active member of the community, and currently resides in Jefferson Township with his family.
Ripper is the first announced candidate to replace Haggerty. The primary election will be held in May.
