The Butler Road Race is coming up next week, Saturday, June 19, 2021, and officials want to give you time to prepare for the road closures.
The race starts at Diamond Park on Main Street, turns onto West Penn Street, crosses Mercer Street, and has a turnaround point in Alameda Park. This is an out-and-back race, which means the runners will return to Diamond Park for the finish line.
These roads may be closed to traffic anytime from 8 AM to 11 AM on June 19, 2021.
In the past, many residents along the race route were notified early with small cards that were handed out by volunteers. Those cards are not expected to be handed out this year.
As in past years, the course will be patrolled by local CB Rangers and City Police Department, with multiple Emergency Response vehicles placed along the course.
The Butler Road Race is presented by the Butler County Family YMCA and Butler Health Systems.
Race officials apologize for any inconvenience of road closures but say, ‘We appreciate your understanding as we welcome runners back to celebrate historic downtown Butler. We invite you to enjoy the race and cheer on participants as they pass your home!’
