Rob McClellan won the Pittsburgh Open following a final round 69 Tuesday at Sewickley Heights Golf Club. McClellan finished the two-day event at 1-under, winning the tournament by three strokes. He pocketed the top prize of $10,000. McClellan is currently an instructor at All About Golf in Butler. Gene Walter of the Pennsylvania Golf Academy was the runner-up, finishing the tournament at 2-over. First round leader Robert Stoops finished at 6-over following a 77 Tuesday. This was the first time in 24 years the Pittsburgh Open was held for Tri-State PGA players.
Palmer Jackson is leading the 119th WPGA Amateur championship heading into the final round today at Oakmont Country Club. Jackson, from Hannahstown Golf Club shot a 1-under 70 Tuesday, and moves to even par after an opening round of 72. Kyle Grube of Indiana Country Club is two strokes back. Jon Pratkanis of Butler Country Club is five strokes back.
