Robert C. Weiland, 90, of Butler, passed away January 8, 2021, at New Haven Court.
Born January 28, 1930 in Butler, he was the son of the late Joseph B. Weiland and Florence M. (Eyth) Weiland.
Robert was self-employed as owner of Robert Weiland Construction Company in Butler for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, the V.F.W. #249, the American Legion #117, the Butler Moose #64 and the Knights of Columbus #866. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and going to his camp in Kane, PA. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and having sing-alongs with his siblings.
Rob was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Air Force.
Surviving is his wife, Grace (Green) Weiland, whom he married June 10, 1953, daughters Robin (Ron) Hasychak of West Sunbury and Michele (Joe) Kasunich of Butler, grandchildren Kristen (Travis) Clouse, Taylor Hasychak, Justin Kasunich, Tyler Kasunich, Alyssa Kasunich, great grandson Braden Clouse, sister Madeline “Sis” Neff, brother Donald (Emma) Weiland and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Francis, Leo and David Weiland, 3 sisters, Virginia Birckbichler, Joan Gibbs and Norma Kudamik, his daughter Deborah Weiland, and his granddaughter, Ashley Hasychak.
There will not be a public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. The. Rev. Matt McClain, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Wendelin’s Parish Cemetery.
