Robert Oliver Bieber, age 84, of Evans City, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at St. John’s Specialty Care Home in Mars, with his family by his side.
Born June 7, 1938 in Lancaster Twp., he was the son of the late Ralph and Beulah Domhoff Bieber.
Bob proudly served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963.
He was a faithful member of the Mt Nebo Presbyterian Church, where he and Shirley raised their children and he played first base on the Church softball team.
Bob worked for the former Pullman Standard until it closed. He was a farmer all of his life and especially enjoyed taking care of the cows. For many years Oliver Tractors were his favorite, but he also spent many hours on “Big Blue” as he called it. He retired from the Edward Gilliland Farm in December of 2017.
His hobbies included deer, coon, and fox hunting, making cider and homemade ice cream, tractor pulling, word searches, and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Mae Sloan Bieber, whom he married on August 6, 1965; his children Randolph (Virlinda) Bieber of Butler, Ella (Dan) Heathcote of Evans City, Timothy Bieber of Evans City, and Nancy (Jay) Reno of Valenica; five grandsons Christopher, Michael, Nicholas Martinkovich, Gordan and Dezmen Bieber; fourteen great grandchildren; siblings Faye Collins of Zelienople, Sally (Thomas) Davis of Middle Lancaster, Charlotte (Clair) Bupp of Meridian; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven infant grandchildren; six siblings Gerald Bieber, Clair Bieber, William Bieber, Erma Plesniak, Olive Farinelli, and Janet Bintrim.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 23,2022 from 5pm to 7pm at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect. Funeral service will follow at 7PM, in the Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason Sinagra, his church pastor, officiating.
Private interment will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
