Robert Wilson McMurray, Sr., age 87 of Portersville peacefully passed away Saturday afternoon at The Grove in New Castle, following an illness.
Born April 19, 1934 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late James and Clara Duman McMurray.
In 1979, he retired from the former Dravo Corporation, where he was an electrician.
He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and will be remembered for making amazing Christmas lights displays.
He is survived by his loving wife Katherine Marie Oresick McMurray, who he married September 26, 1970; his children Ronald C (Krista) Adams of Ohio, Derek E (Linda) Adams of Harlansburg, Donna (Joe) Smith of Washington, Pa, Deborah (William) McCarthy of California; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and his sister Claire (Bill) Kress of Washington, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two sons Daryl McMurray and Robert W. McMurray, Jr; three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 2pm to 4pm at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect. The Funeral Service will be at 4pm, in the Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Roberts, Pastor at Portersville Bible Church, officiating.
Private internment will be in the Portersville Bible Church Cemetery.
