A local veteran is receiving national recognition for making a difference as a leader and advocate in the community.
The Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Women Veterans has named Mary Chitwood as one of their 27 Trailblazers for 2021.
Chitwood is the founder and executive director of Robin’s Home which is a non-profit agency in downtown Butler that provides services to homeless and low-income female Veterans and their children. Chitwood served in the U.S. Army from 2003 to 2006 in California.
The annual Women Veterans Leading the Way campaign celebrates the contributions of women Veterans of all branches during and after their military service.
