The Slippery Rock University baseball team swept a doubleheader from Clarion Friday at the former Pullman Park in Butler. The Rock won the opener 5-2, then completed the sweep with a 13-0 shutout in game two. Starting pitcher Alex Pantuso struck out 14 batters in game one, to break The Rock’s career strikeout record. He had begun the day tied for the most in program history with Oakland A’s prospect Lou Trivino with 217 career strikeouts, then went out an matched his single-game career high. The Rock improved to 11-7 overall, and 4-2 in the PSAC-West.
