College Basketball:
The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team defeated Edinboro 88-82 Saturday, scoring 14 of the final 22 points in regulation at Morrow Field House. The victory improved the Rock to 9-4 in the PSAC and 15-4 overall. They are now in sole possession of third place in the PSAC standings with nine games remaining in the regular season. Micah Till led The Rock with 26 points and 20 rebounds. The 20 rebounds tied for the most by any player in the PSAC this season.
SRU will host second-place Gannon Wednesday.
The Rock women lost to nationally-ranked Edinboro 74-52, snapping a three-game winning streak. They fell to 10-8 overall, and 8-5 in the conference. Brooke Hinderliter (Redbank Valley) led The Rock with 18 points and 10 rebounds. LeeAnn Gibson (Karns City) added 10 points and six rebounds.
The BC3 men’s basketball team lost to Montgomery County Community College of Maryland 113-81 Saturday. Joel Stutz led the Pioneers with 21 points. Their record fell to 2-15.
